Demonstration of the Renaissance Guitar by MusicMakers

Back in November 2010 GKB published our overview of the Renaissance Guitar Kit from Music Maker’s Kits. Now finally there is a demonstration video of the assembled guitar with some nice playing by Matt Edwards. The renaissance guitar kit is described as having a “17th century look with 21st century sound” and features a large, solid mahogany soundboard, walnut sides, laminated walnut back, rosewood fingerboard, black sealed-gear tuners and a mahogany peghead with laser-cut truss rod cover. The kit comes with pre-cut parts, all parts, strings, and detailed instructions. Music Makers even provides technical support for kit builders by phone or email. You can even view the kit instructions online. Kit price is $399 and a padded gig bag that fits its unusual size is $120. They’ll build the kit for you for $699 but where’s the fun in that? Here’s the video:
