Featured Website: Solid State Guitar Amp Forum

We think many Guitar Kit Builder readers will be interested to check out the Solid State Guitar Amp Forum at www.SSGuitar.com. This is a forum-based website devoted to building, fixing and modifying solid state guitar amplifiers and associated gear. It was started in 2006 and has flourished ever since, with members from all over the world. The site was founded by Joseph Raymond who resides in the State of Maine and works as an IT Manager by day and amplifier repairer and DIYer for fun. He can be found in the forums as administrator “joecool85.”

The forum is notable for a number of regular admins and participants with deep expertise in solid state design. We recently did a Book Review on “Solid State Guitar Amplifiers” by Teemu Kyttala, who is an admin on the site as well.

There are a number of nice tutorials and reference materials posted in various sticky thread areas. The site also welcomes beginners through its Newcomers Forum where all questions are important and none are stupid. Check out the Solid State Guitar Forum and we think you’ll find a regular resource that you’ll return to on a regular basis.
